“Karen,

Here are a few pics of Kayba and Mika. It is hard to get them to sit still long enough to have a pic taken, so some are through the chain link fence. Kayba weighed 57 pounds on June 1 (4-1/2 months old) and Mika weighed 49 pounds. They are both doing great!

Mika is the cautious, thinking one, and looks so much like her father (-Pui). Just a beautiful dog. Kayba is very affectionate, and also gorgeous. She looks a lot like a German shepherd in the face, while Mika looks like a wolf. They are totally inseparable which makes them hard to train, so we have started taking them out individually. Neither of them likes being w/o the other, but they are learning better individually.

They are very smart, and learn quick. Only trouble we had was keeping them in our 3 acre yard. They would take off for the woods and totally ignore us. So I finally put up an electric fence just along the wood line, above ground with a wide ribbon-like wire (made for horses). Each of them hit it one time, and since then they have been incredibly well-behaved in the yard! When they start to run off we say "No!" and they come back. So the fence at least put a little fear into them about running off on their own! They escaped from their kennel the other day (pushed their way underneath a loose portion of it) and were sitting in the garage waiting for us when we came home 4 hrs later. So they have learned to stay home.

I bought a stock tank that is 2' wide by 6' long and 1' deep and fill it with water. They LOVE to sit in it, and as soon as the go back in their kennel after running out in the yard, they jump in it and all you see is their heads! It really keeps them cool when it gets hot (it was 90degrees today). Mika really loves water, and being sprayed with the hose. Kayba likes being in the water, but not so sure about the hose. They are a blast to play with.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know how they are doing. We are really enjoying them!

Spirited Koda - Sire-Ohapi Pui

“Hi Karen,
I have been promising to send you some pictures of Koda daughter of Dam Gleska and Sire Ohapi Pui.  Her markings are gorgeous. She has white eyebrows, black hair, white markings thru out her body, but the best is the shape of an eagle on her chest. She is 9 months now and she weighs about 60lbs.  She is a big girl now. Very active never seems to be tired.  She loves to play. My children love her. She is doing really well. Thank you so much for your help with everything.  I have registered her as Spirited Koda.  She is a great family member…     Rose”

“Hi Karen!

Tala just turned a year Jan 14 and is about 90 pounds.  She has a personality different from most breeds that always seems to surprise us!  She is definitely a pack dog that thrives on the company of people and other dogs.  She enjoys her trips to the pet store where she gets to mingle with a lot of other dogs and lives for play dates with other friend’s dogs.  She has never shown any aggression with any other dog or person.  She is well received at the vet where everything seems to stop so everyone can say hi to Tala.  Tala is now part of the family and continues to impress us every day!    Thanks Lonnie & Tina”
