“Hi Karen! I hope you are well
and enjoying this Easter as we remember that The Lord has power over
death. :o)
Our two pups are doing great!
Navarre
, son of Ota and Sota Hota (NAID) is doing
well and is such a sweet heart. He loves every single person and any dog
he meets. He has a steady temperament and is getting big and gorgeous! I
will try to remember to include a pic of him in his graduation gown after
graduating from pre-school. He got first place in two categories! He
got first place in the immediate sit and also the stay. He loved
preschool.
Our Missy Coyote,
Kuwa
Wa
and FF's little girl, is a sweety too. She is
smart and really adorable. And she just loves
Navarre
. He of course loves her too.
We will be moving to OK at the end of April, so I will be sure to get back
to you
when we get there.
Take care!

“Dear Karen,
I hope you are well and things have maybe improved for you!
Have you sold all the beautiful Opo puppies?
I want you to know how wonderful the dogs have developed so far.
Tosca (Ota and Catori) is now about 60 pounds, and her fur is blooming
into something very beautiful; a growing patch of white over her
shoulders, and who knows what it will change into-- I can't wait. Her coat
shines and has a lively action to it that is so unique. No matter
how much mud she gets into somehow the next day she is completely clean.
Her personality just gets cuter and cuter all the time, full of crazy
mischief and joy.
Ruby (Una)(daughter of Petaga & Kuwa Wa) is a treasure, and both
dogs are the dream dogs of my life. Ruby has changed completely since
coming. I do appreciate your attempts to get me to accept a more
'friendly' dog rather than Ruby, as you faithfully told me she was shy
with those she did not know. But as you know, I wanted her anyway,
because you know from your experience that sometimes people bond with dogs
and you can't really tell a reason why.
It was the look in her eyes that made me want her. Her
shyness has melted away bit by bit, and she has become very queenly and
stands with happiness and shining eyes and alert perky ears. Her
tail used to hang down lifeless and now it springs upward and she has a
special 'dance' when she sees me coming in the yard. She has a residual
puppy playfulness with me and with Tosca.
A stupid vet that was supposed to see Ruby for an initial appt. looked at
her in the van cringing (the 1st week), and said 'get rid of her before
you spend more money on her.' That made me very angry. I knew
then that there is NO way I would ever let go of her. (I found a
different fantastic vet whom Ruby loves...a real dog man.) She
captured my heart from the first night, and after she ran away and
was found, she changed and showed a bond that has developed very strongly
over these 3 months. She's perfect and beautifully wild, and so
elegant, so smart and kind and good. She
is exquisitely gentle whenever taking food from my hand!
She has no malice and has never, even when cornered, snapped at
anyone. Even when she's been
very scared she has never shown aggression.
She has bonded with me so that she always is looking through the windows
right into my face, with intensity.
They are not needing to be on their cables except for now, about 3 hours a
day. That will change into
never, as soon as the marker-flags for the underground fence can be
removed and they show that they are completely trustworthy.
The rest of the time they are running free in the yard, as they
have learned
to respect the underground dog fence and don't ever try to run away.
Every day, they go to the other house during my teaching and have
the time of their lives playing in the wood-fenced yard. They play
furiously in BOTH yards, but seem to love the fenced yard especially,
as it has a view of the mountains and the street and they are up high on a
hill, looking off a porch over a vast domain.
There are several fantastic dog parks that I take them to once a day.
One park allows them to run free in a landscape of rocks, trails and trees
and they run with abandon meeting all kinds of dogs and have the true
time of their lives. There is never a problem meeting any dogs of
any size. They are gentle with the tiny dogs and ecstatic with any
northern breeds. Tosca will sometimes stand next to the van and whine,
asking to go the park earlier than I am planning to take them.
They never cause problems with barking, as they are so quiet and never
show ANY indignity with other dogs. Rather, they are mysteriously silent
concerning other dogs. They
only will bark when a stranger comes in the yard and that's it. They have
immense dignity and maturity. Even the puppy at 5.5 months.
Tosca has an apt. for spay on June 15 and I will send you the certificate.
The basement is nearly done and we are making a special sleeping room for
them for nighttime. Lined with
tile and concrete floor. It is a walkout basement that has huge
windows and the special bathroom for the dogs is gonig to be so gerat for
keeping them washed and smelling sweet.
As for their time at night presently in the garage: that has
been a ritual each night, they actually beg to come in and go in the
garage when it gets dark. They wait in the yard staring into
the windows, waiting to come in.
Each dog has their own song that I sing to her, and they love their songs!
if I sing Tosca her song first, Ruby gets jealous, because it is
established that she gets her song first!
Her song is "SHALOM" and she goes to her chosen spot and
lays down with a plunk , stretches her feet towards me for her nighttime
massage. The instant I start singing her song, she closes her eyes.
It is very very sweet. Tosca starts whining when I sing
Ruby's song, as if she is saying 'come sing to me too'. When I sing
Tosca's song to her, I hold her head in my hands and she just goes limp;
her eyes roll and flutter almost instantly to sleep. This is the
routine every night. It's
something I've never experienced with dogs before, their sensitivity and
appreciation of the love that they are receiving.
These dogs are perfect and my dream dogs, just as I had hoped they
would be.
For all the jerks on the internet that are writing derogatory remarks
about your dogs, they are totally wrong. I've found some ridiculous
comments against you, about the dogs being 'wild' and that they are all
shy and impossible to be pets. These people must be full of dirt and
ill will. They know nothing.
Something is really special about your dogs Karen, and much of it I believe,
is your faith in Christ and your loving prayers over them. God's
blessing is on these dogs, and I am so very very happy that we
found you. Blessings and prosperity on you always.

“Karen,
Just thought I'd forward some photos of Sakima (son of
Kuwa
Wa
and Fantastic Fred) to you. He is just so
handsome. What a mature pup he is. He loves the
Maine
beaches, and luckily we live 5 min. down the
road from many of them. Although, he doesn't swim yet (actually he did
have his first involuntary swim a few weeks ago), he loves to play in the
water. About the involuntary swim; we were at a park and there is a lovely
lake and hike paths. My boys and I were crossing one of the bridges on the
walking path and Sakima saw some other dogs across the lake, his love and
desire to be with other dogs took over and he jumped in without realizing
that the water was over his head. He swam with ease and with a lot of
encouragement from the sidelines he made it to an area where he could
climb out. Whew!! Well, that's it for now. We'll send more
updates soon!

“Hello: Tula was born December 2007 of
Fantastic Fred and Kuwa Wa. We have her papers but not much else
about her history. She came to us in March of this year after three
other homes in her life. Needless to say she has separation anxiety which
is quickly dissipating as we have worked hard to
assure her she is home for good with us. We adore this magnificent spirit.
I am absolutely in love with her. She shows her magic in so many ways.
Every day we say she is a blessing that has come into our lives. I
have done a lot of internet work to find pictures of her parents as well
as siblings.
I thought you might want to see how beautiful Tula is! You are
welcome to post her pictures if you
wish.
Thanks.

| “WE ARE IN LOVE!!!!!! LOL
Yiska finally arrived here last night about
5:30 p.m. Already we are amazed at how fast he's catching on to things. He
was very shy for about the 1st hour, didn't want to be touched but yet
wanted to be near us. I got out some left over roast meat and each of us
took turns feeding him small bites of it....that was all that was needed
to break the ice, he was playing w/ us and curling up beside us on the
couch to sleep w/in just the next couple of hours. My son, Nate, slept
on the floor of his room w/ Yiska last night, I went down early this
morning to see how they were fairing and Yiska was sleeping on his back
right up against Nate, neither of them woke up, even w/ the creaking of
the door. Today he's following Nate pretty much everywhere he goes. We are
so incredibly happy to have him, THANK YOU!!!
