“Karen:

At long last, I am sending you... some pictures of him over the past six months. He is an absolutely wonderful dog.

“Dear Karen,

I wanted to write and let you know how Kiona ( daughter of Odawa and Petaga) NAID, and Toby (son of Yana Istas and Apricot Rose) SID are doing. They are wonderful dogs! They have always been calm and very well-behaved for puppies. My neighbors cannot believe they don't bark! You were so right about having two dogs as opposed to one. They are inseparable and so happy! They are both almost 6 months old and are growing fast. They are so affectionate and great with the kids. They do prefer to be outside regardless of the weather, so thanks so much for a heads up about that. I've sent some pictures so that you can see them as they were at about 3 months old and how they look today. Contacting your kennel was the best thing we have done for this family in a long time!

“Karen,

I wanted to send you an update on the two dogs we got from you.

Dewey a Siberian Indian Dog, (Fantastic Fred & Boo Berry born 3-7-07 ) is 9 months old and weighs about 60-65 pounds. He is very confident and friendly. He swam out to a canoe to say hi to some people he had not met before then swam back. Dewey is a pure athlete . He can run for miles and not get tired. You should see him in the woods. He loves to go hiking where he can run, jump logs and explore. He runs back at full speed when you call him. His eyes are beautiful. They are light brown with a dark brown ring around the outside.

Kona, a NAID, (Petaga & Odawa born 6-10-07 ) is now 6 months old today and weighs well over 80 pounds. "Koney" is a lover just like his daddy. He is very calm and easy to train. Koney is growing so fast. His fur got a lot darker and looks more like Dewey. It's easy to tell them apart by their faces. Dewey has the middle finger and Kona has the heart shape. Kona is so much larger now. His feet are twice as big and his body is much thicker. Kona is not as outgoing as Dewey. He will give you a big "WOOF" if he does not know you and you're in his backyard. He will give you lots of kisses once he gets to know you.

These guys are awesome. They are great with small children, cats and other dogs. The Dew and Koney Dog are very sweet. The only thing to worry about is a fierce face licking. We had a small kid stop by during Halloween and the dogs almost licked off all of his make up. They listen really well and walk off leash in the woods. Dewey likes to explore but he comes back when called. Kona likes to stay near me on the trail. They love the water. I will cross the stream on logs that have fallen and the dogs will swim across often playing in the water with each other.

The pictures with their life jackets on are from Labor Day back when Dewey was still bigger then Kona. They did great on the canoe trip and we did not flip over. Koney curled up on Ruth's lap that night by the campfire. The newer pictures are from around Thanksgiving. The one on Thanksgiving morning is in the stream with Dewey looking at the ducks.

Both dogs get a lot of attention and we have told everyone to check out your website.  Anyone that is allergic to dogs but always wanted one should contact you.  Dewey has really thick fur.  I call him my wooly dog.  Kona is silky.  Neither dog sheds except for their puppy fur and I expect their winter coats in the spring.  I brush out their burs when we get back from hiking.  I probably brush out more of my own hair then I ever do from both dogs combined.  I do not have any problems with my allergies or asthema. I also like how quiet they are. They do not bark often and when they do it is for a reason. These guys have given us so much happiness. Thank you for raising the best dogs.

Kevin & Ruth Jonatzke”

“Hi Karen,

We're home safe and totally in love with our little girl. Her name is spelled Liluye. We call her Lilu for short. As Neil mentioned, Liluye is a Coast Miwok ( Northern California ) name that roughly translates as "Soaring Hawk."   Your dogs are all so friendly and beautiful, how is Mom, Odawa doing?, she seemed so upset when we took our pup.   Give her a hug for me.   Thank-you so much.  Jill”

“Hi Karen!

All I can say is that we are in love!  My husband, Steven and I have done nothing but thoroughly enjoy Tehya coming into our family.  She has settled right in and loves Quinn, our German Shepherd.  He has adopted her as his own and is full of life again after losing Kiya.  She came into the house without any issues or problems integrating with all my other animals!  We love her and she is a very good girl!  We go for walks everyday and she can go about 1 mile now.  She learned to walk on a leash with one lesson! Following this email I will send you a slide show that Steven made of her.  Thanks Karen for such a lovely puppy!  I have told many people about you and your very special dogs!  I had better go check on her, she may need to go out!  Lori Cohen”

“Hi Karen!

I hope that this email finds you all well at Majestic View!  I wanted to send a recent photo of Tehya.  She is 70 lbs at 6 1/2 months!  She is really beautiful and draws looks and questions wherever I take her.  She is a rambunctious puppy with a ton of energy and play in her!  She is incredibly smart but definitely has the female NAID stubborn streak  and just a bit of an attitude but it is all what I love about her.  I hope this photo can be put in the section of Odawa's offspring so everyone can see that I have "the most beautiful Indian Dog"!

        Blessings,

Yonv - Sire ~ Sakata Jerry

Yonv.JPG (15602 bytes)

“Karen,
I wanted to let you know how well Yonv is doing. She is very happy and is exuberant in her affection. She is sleeping most of the nights- although she really doesn't like to be alone. The girls have been sleeping downstairs with her! She doesn't like the kennel- so we took it back... no real need for it anyway since she won't be using it once she is trained. She likes to sleep on the air vents and linoleum. It is July in the South and she loves the a/c. She is so funny!! She likes to "swim" in her water bowl. She will put her feet in it and splash it all out on the floor then paw at her dish- its too funny! We think she has grown since arriving on Monday- unreal how fast!

She went shopping today- we took her to PetSmart. The ladies there have been hearing for weeks now about her and wanted to see her. EVERYONE ooohd and aahhhhd over her- People asking if we were going to breed her- that they would like to have one. I have one of your business cards- would you mind sending a few more so I can pass them out as people ask?  We are so pleased with her- thanks again! She is sooo pretty and a great
personality. Sometimes she goes into turbo dog mode- usually after a power nap and she is very persistent in her "puppyness". She has 2 different rawhide bones and a wonderful stuffed animal toy that is made of the training canvas that she loves to chew on. not to mention the assorted variety of balls and such.

So far housebreaking is going well- she knows what she is to do when she goes outside- the part about waiting till she goes outside is the next thing to learn. All in all she is doing very well. The few accidents have been due to us not getting her outside in time. But they are a very FEW times..Just wanted to let you know how she is doing. She goes to meet her new vet Aug 2. They are very interested in meeting her too…

Michelle”

“Karen,
I wanted to let you know how Yonv is doing.  She went to the vet last Thurs for her final puppy shots. She is very healthy and everyone at the vet loves her. She goes this coming Thurs to get her ID chip. The vet is running a clinic for it and seeing how special and rare a pup she is, we think its best to have her id'd.  She goes to school in Oct- we will take her 3 Saturdays in a row, she will learn basic commands such as sit, stay, come, down... she has learned some of these already, but we feel it’s important that we take the time to do this for her.
At her appointment we found out that she is now 38lbs and only 4 mos old! She is a big girl! Yonv is getting her adult teeth in now- bless her heart she is chewing intensely on her toys. We all will be glad when her teeth don't hurt her anymore. She wants to help out in the kitchen, she stands up with her front feet on the counter or the sink to see what I'm doing, She loves to get into the tub with a bit of water to splash around in. She doesn't like to be alone so she is always with one of us- just being a part of the family. She is so sweet and loving. I don't know that we have ever seen a big dog with such a loving disposition. I will say that as loving as she is with us- she is very watchful with new people. When the cable man came out she was on guard and didn't like it one bit that he was here! I guess that’s all for now. I'll send new pics when my daughter downloads
them.
Michelle”

“Karen,
How are you?  Everyone who sees Yonv oohs and aahs over her.  Our older daughter had her birthday party last Saturday, I was concerned how Yonv would take to all those people being in the house- but she really had a good time and was so well behaved.  She loves ice cubes and watches intently as we dispense them from the refrigerator door- I think she is figuring it out!  One day I'll come into the kitchen and she will be helping herself to the ice!  You know, she doesn't know that she is a dog, and a big one at that!  She is just one of the girls!  We had friends over the other day- they brought their little Yorkie, he and Yonv are about the same age.  They went tearing thru the house- having the best time!  This little 5 lb dog and Yonv, the 80lb pup!  Our little Patchy (Lhasa Apso) was beside herself- hiding under the table.  She is almost 12 and didn't quite know what to make of the "younger dogs" playing so hard.  We saw on your site you have a new litter of pups.  They are SO CUTE!  My family is jumping up and down to get another one- but I say wait till Yonv is about 2.  But, for kicks and giggles- what do you have?
Thanks for a wonderful dog!
Michelle”

“Karen,
Hi!  I was just on your site and saw all the new babies!  OOH they are SO CUTE!
I wanted to let you know how Yonv is doing.. As you know she is now a year and a half old.  She is between 90-100lbs and is BEAUTIFUL!  She is an inside dog, of course.  She doesn't chew no no's anymore, only her toys.  I have had to get some canvas to make a blanket for her- and will need to get more to make a chew toy.. the commercial toys just don't stand up to her for long.
Did I tell you that our Lhasa , Patch, passed away in May?  Well, Yonv was so sad, she just didn't know where her sissy was.  We got another Lhasa in June- and Yonv was so happy to have a sister again!  The NAIDS really do like to have other dogs around.  Well, the new pups' name is Koda, and they both play together.  They rough house and run and then snuggle together for nap time.  Yonv is always very careful to not step on Koda or hurt her.  On Saturday mornings, Yonv knows she always gets an Enzadent bone.  After she gets thru chewing it, she gets on our bed with us and Koda for some cuddle time.  She loves the weekends when Daddy is home.
I have never seen a dog as intelligent as Yonv.  Nor have I ever seen a large breed dog with such a loving disposition.  She looks at us with those big amber eyes with such love.  She gives kisses too!  She loves as hard as she plays.
She talks to us now, and will sing some too.  I want to let her do the answering machine
We are still looking to get another NAID in a year or so.  We had orginally thought to get another one when Yonv was 2, but we are now thinking maybe 3 is a better span, since Koda is only 9 mos old.  Do you know who you will be breeding ahead of time?  We'd like to know who will be having pups maybe next Christmas time???  Or soon thereafter.
I'm attaching some recent pics..  They are a variety, so you can see what a great girl she is.
Hope you are doing well, Blessings!
Michelle”

“Hello Karen,

Hope all is well. Here are a few pictures of
Yuma over the past year, he's almost 9mths old. He has grown to be a very laid back, cool calm pup. He weighs about
95lbs passing our fox red lab, Gus, who is almost 2 yrs, and is about 87lbs.

Yuma loves being outdoors, especially since there has been snow on the ground. He could spend the entire day outside if we would let him.

He also enjoys playing with his girlfriend, Shelby, a
Newfoundland , who is one month older than him.

My family and I couldn't be happier with our "little" man. We love him dearly and thank you.

Gerry”
