"Karen,

We've named our pup "Chako" (short for Chakotay) and he's doing just fine.  Our older dog, PW was domineering and guarded the first day or so, but now they're best buddies.  It took our other dog Kudoo many months before he warmed up to PW.

What a bundle of joy and a little lover!  He has been sleeping thru the night (in our bed) since the first night without messing.  By day 4, Chako started scratching at the door to go out (and come in), responds to his name, jumping off the bed and the backyard top step, and figured out all the hiding places.

We had our dog sitter stop over for a relief visit the other day.  She was amazed at how smart Chako was at 8 weeks.

Thank you for everything,

Bob and Debbie Knight"

“Hi Karen,

Just wanted to send you some recent photos of Chako (Chakotay) - son of Fantastic Fred and Boo Berry on March 8, 2007

Chako is now 8 months, 57 lbs, 22.5" at the shoulders, wide chest, wide shoulders, thick neck, broad face/head, and solid as a rock.  Debbie and I figure he should top-out at about 65-70 lbs and 24".  Does this sound about right?

He's quite the looker and continues to draw a lot of attention whenever he's in PetSmart or just going on a walk (or run) in the neighborhood.  He's very smart, a quick learner, and a little lover (lots of kisses all the time)!  On my first run with him he wanted to pull me throughout the run.  On the second run (with the help of a pronged collar) he obeyed commands and stayed heeled on my left.

He has the funniest howl (adding a slight gurgle) and only barks (usually only 1 bark) when he really wants something and we're not paying attention to him.  He then grabs one of our hands leading us to whatever it is he wanted.  We've discovered he's a 50% inside / 50% outside dog.  He'll stay outside as long as one of us (or P.W., our Husky-Great Pyrenese) is outside with him.  But, by himself, he does his business and then returns to the door.  He slowly stalks any bug he sees in the yard and then pounces on them.  He's quite the character.   Thanks Bob"

“Karen,

My wife, Ruth, and I have one of the Siberian Indian Dog male pups from the March 8th litter with Fantastic Fred and BooBerry. We named him Dewey and he is awesome. Attached are pictures from Easter when we first met him and from the 4th of July. Dewey has a sweet personality and everybody loves him. He is friendly and likes to meet new people and other dogs. He's great with kids. He does not bark but he does talk to us and other dogs when he is playing with them. He kind of sounds like the NAID, Sakata Jerry, when he said "I love you".  We don't know what he is saying but it's funny. It makes me think of Astro from the Jetsons. Dewey is very confident and has a big dog attitude with no fear but never aggressive. Loud noises do not scare him. He passed the PetsMart puppy training and is house broken. Dewey is very intelligent, listens well and his attention/concentration is improving as he gets older. He is growing from a cute puppy into a handsome dog and now weighs 40 pounds at 4 months old. His fur is soft and low maintenance with no shedding. We gave him 1 bath but found that a quick rinse with plain water is best. He air dries fluffy. I like to give him a big hug and get my face in his fur. He smells good and I don't worry about my asthma. He is a good swimmer and likes to play in the water but he does not like to get splashed on purpose even if he is already soaked. Splashing during play is fine. What a character. I skate with him often and go 3 miles or more each time at a good pace. You would think that he would be tired but then he runs laps in the backyard when we get home. He makes me laugh every day. We love him very much.

I'm allergic to dogs and have asthma. My first asthma attack that was triggered by a dog happened when I was 6 months old. It is a life threatening condition and I have had several visits to the ER. We had an outside only hunting dog when I was growing up and didn't get to enjoy his personality as much as if he could come inside. I've met a lot of dogs and have been allergic to all of them except for yours. Dewey sleeps by me every night and I've never had a problem. It really means a lot to be able to enjoy him. Thank you for your work in breeding dogs that are truly non allergenic and allowing us to have Dewey in our home.

“Karen,

I wanted to send you an update on the two dogs we got from you.

Dewey a Siberian Indian Dog, (Fantastic Fred & Boo Berry born 3-7-07 ) is 9 months old and weighs about 60-65 pounds. He is very confident and friendly. He swam out to a canoe to say hi to some people he had not met before then swam back. Dewey is a pure athlete . He can run for miles and not get tired. You should see him in the woods. He loves to go hiking where he can run, jump logs and explore. He runs back at full speed when you call him. His eyes are beautiful. They are light brown with a dark brown ring around the outside.

Kona, a NAID, (Petaga & Odawa born 6-10-07 ) is now 6 months old today and weighs well over 80 pounds. "Koney" is a lover just like his daddy. He is very calm and easy to train. Koney is growing so fast. His fur got a lot darker and looks more like Dewey. It's easy to tell them apart by their faces. Dewey has the middle finger and Kona has the heart shape. Kona is so much larger now. His feet are twice as big and his body is much thicker. Kona is not as outgoing as Dewey. He will give you a big "WOOF" if he does not know you and you're in his backyard. He will give you lots of kisses once he gets to know you.

These guys are awesome. They are great with small children, cats and other dogs. The Dew and Koney Dog are very sweet. The only thing to worry about is a fierce face licking. We had a small kid stop by during Halloween and the dogs almost licked off all of his make up. They listen really well and walk off leash in the woods. Dewey likes to explore but he comes back when called. Kona likes to stay near me on the trail. They love the water. I will cross the stream on logs that have fallen and the dogs will swim across often playing in the water with each other.

The pictures with their life jackets on are from Labor Day back when Dewey was still bigger then Kona. They did great on the canoe trip and we did not flip over. Koney curled up on Ruth's lap that night by the campfire. The newer pictures are from around Thanksgiving. The one on Thanksgiving morning is in the stream with Dewey looking at the ducks.

Both dogs get a lot of attention and we have told everyone to check out your website.  Anyone that is allergic to dogs but always wanted one should contact you.  Dewey has really thick fur.  I call him my wooly dog.  Kona is silky.  Neither dog sheds except for their puppy fur and I expect their winter coats in the spring.  I brush out their burs when we get back from hiking.  I probably brush out more of my own hair then I ever do from both dogs combined.  I do not have any problems with my allergies or asthema. I also like how quiet they are. They do not bark often and when they do it is for a reason. These guys have given us so much happiness. Thank you for raising the best dogs.

Kevin & Ruth Jonatzke”

“Karen

Well, Lupie, (Siberian Indian Dog, daughter of Boo Berry and Fantastic Fred) fared very well on her first ocean voyage.  We sailed 145 miles down the Hudson River past the Statue of Liberty and out to Block Island .  She and Beryl paddled back to the sailboat  in a kyack, in a 30 knot wind --- passing up all offers of assistance.  Lupie has a lovely, stable personality and is Beryl's best friend.  She thought the freshly caught fish was quite delicious.   She and Beryl are best buddies.
